Frequently asked questions
Please see our frequently asked questions that may provide an answer to queries you may have.
Just as the clothes we wear need regular washing to keep them fresh and hygienic, carpets and upholstery require periodic cleaning. Accumulated soil is a major cause of reduced carpet and upholstery life. Cleaning costs are minimal when you consider the replacement cost of carpets and furnishings, so regular cleaning makes economic sense.
We recommend that your carpets and upholstery are professionally cleaned by one of our qualified technicians every 12-18 months. Carpets and upholstery should be cleaned on a regular basis and before they become heavily soiled. Allowing soil to build up will significantly reduce the life of your carpets and upholstery.
We use a range of detergent free solutions, that are 100% eco friendly, safe for children and pets, so there will be no harmful chemical residue left on your carpets or upholstery.
There is a common misconception that cleaning will somehow damage or wear out carpets or upholstery which is not true. When you hire Dalton Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning you can rest assured that we won’t cause any damage to your carpets or upholstery. Having your carpet or sofa cleaned has the opposite effect, it will remove the build up of soil which causes wear keeping them looking fresh and clean.
We would recommend getting in contact at least a week before you need an appointment, during busy periods such as december you may need to book 2/3 weeks in advance.
If you are having your carpets cleaned please have the rooms as clear as possible. Removal of small tables, lamps and other small furniture is a great help. There is no need to move sofas and armchairs as we will move them during the cleaning process to clean underneath.
Carpets will be dry enough to walk on straight after cleaning but will generally take around 1-2 hours to fully dry. Remember to be careful when walking from a damp carpet onto a tiled/hard surface as you could possibly slip.
Upholstery drying times will depend on the fiber type, degree of soiling, humidity and air circulation in your home. Generally it would be the next day before your upholstery would be back in use but this can be accelerated by the placement of fans/air movers in the room.
